Also, best spambot yet came in a few weeks ago; even Toady let it stay: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=122393.0

... HOHOHO~

That is just amazing.  Never seen anything like it.

Hi Vector, I'm doing math! Like, right this minute! I just took a break from doing next weeks math homework to watch this guy talk about math (I don't know why since I know it all) and check the forum.

Dude!  That rocks!  I'm really happy for you, math-bro!

This semester I'm taking a course in research on surfaces, which is really cool because we pretty much just sit around putting handles and Mobius strips on things.  I feel like such a lazy mathematician, lol, but it's a really fun field.

Hi Vector~
Aside from what the other people already said, not much else. I got sick and then less sick, DrPoo kinda-left and kinda-came back. There was 1 (maybe 2? Forget when you left was.) new DF Talk episodes.

Also, Russia Struck Meteor. I'm pretty sure you heard about that though, and probably the otherway around :P

Howdy Vector. Dunno if I'm around often/long enough to count as a regular, but I'm still here. Sounds like you've been having a relatively good time!

I'm still around.  Aqizzar's still here.

I saw something absurd today.  Not really happy at all, but you guys know the deal.  Rode through the ghetto on the bus today, realized there isn't a single light on in all the buildings we pass.  Not even one.  Many of the buildings have facades installed, plywood "windows" and "storefronts" put over the holes.  This is usually on the ground floor.  Above is the kind of moribund urban decay that'd give Detroit a run for its money.  I want very badly (though I know better) to go into one of those buildings and see what's inside.  I'd need a flashlight.  And a tetanus shot, judging by what glimpses I can get.

Those facades though.  Something about them strikes me as comically absurd.  I want to write a poem about it, but I feel like it would end up sounded like empty pretentious slacktivism or at worst, cultural deficit victim-blaming tripe.  I'm just morbidly fascinated by the decay.

Faux-edit:  Where'd Ein and Jackrabbit go?  I'm turning into a forum ent, slowly.  I only regularly post in a couple threads that suit my day-to-day interests, and rarely post outside.  My posts-per-day is dropping steadily.

Edit:  I'm also in a fun but kind of fluffy class!  It's a class about poetry and culture in Moorish Spain.  They were apparently pretty blase about old Moe, so there's some very impressive and occasionally obscene stuff.

Jackrabbit just stopped posting back in November, though he was online ten days ago. His avatar is also gone.

I'm not sure what happened with Ein, exactly, but I get the impression there was some sort of crisis.

Don't worry Bay12. I will never get engaged.

Anyway, good to hear from you Vector, glad that you're doing well. And I've always found Shakespeare easier to follow when performed, actually. Particularly hearing the meter of the lines helps a lot, for me at least.

Engaged and theres also Janet getting technically married and not liking the laws that make the technically part of that sentence relative.
I think Janet got (untechnically) married on Valentine's actually.

I'm still around and I am CONQUERING LIFE. Speaking of which, that's today's happy thread subject.

I barely scraped by with a B in Algebra last year, but I'm top of my class in Trigonometry (only one other A-average student). Had two really good jobs that made me a decent sum of money in two days. Even being single again isn't bad just because there's a lot more freedom in it at this stage of life.

Despite the time crunch I saw Thor and the Avengers recently and now have an enormous stupid crush on the pretty guy who plays Loki, so that's kind of fun.

Lolololol etc. Have you seen Tumblr since the Thor/Avengers showings? You're not alone.

Cool! I'm only doing precalc, which is I think also something I already did (I think I might have taken precalc my last year of high school but I was really depressed and it's sort of a blur), but it's good for getting back on the horse.

I am of course not a super awesome mathematician like you (I'm merely a slightly awesome one), which means I'm still doing my typical screw up a minor thing and throw off the entire answer mistakes. But it feels nice to do something productive and challenging after so long.

I'm also reading the three musketeers in the two and a half hour hole I have in my schedule, I'm enjoying it. I didn't really get around to completing moby dick, the slog of the rambling language just wasn't really outcompeting the draw of the interesting bits, three musketeers is much easier to understand and has a faster pacing though, even if it's a bit less enlightening. It's also sometimes rather funny (if sometimes in ways that were probably unintentional).

And I think that's basically everything you'd be interested in.

Oh yeah also a bunch of Bay12vers have gotten engaged the past 2 months for some reason.

I thought they were driving down to washington or something... Eh, doesn't matter, marriage is marriage.

EDIT: Ah, a quick search of the topic reveals she announced getting married on valentines day, that would explain how I missed that one, I was really busy that day (unfortunately not with valentines stuff).

Hey, doodabuddies.  How are things going?

I'm just dropping in to say hi, partially because I was really embarrassed by how I conducted myself last time I was here and don't want that to be y'all's most recent memory of me ::)  Fortunately that whole event got mostly cleared up.  The recent ex-boyfriend hasn't exactly been graceful about what he thinks against all reason and logic must have happened (when I enter a room, he walks into the corner and stares at the wall), but I'm busy with schoolwork anyway.  Between a Sufi meditation class, two comparative literature courses, and two math classes, there's not that much time left for being revenged at.  The meditation class is really amazing, though the attached literature seems to be kind of bullshitty.

Also job search, haha.  I won't get into that because it isn't adequately Happy, but at least I'm doing it now rather than later, eh?

Despite the time crunch I saw Thor and the Avengers recently and now have an enormous stupid crush on the pretty guy who plays Loki, so that's kind of fun.  I've been going to a lot of museums, too, and I'm hoping to go see some Shakespeare once I can understand the written material a bit better.  I also attended a friend's wedding, for which I was asked to make all of the bouquets out of origami--and in exchange got to eat a tasty West African feast and dance very badly for a couple of hours.

Oh, and M-M-M-Metal Gear :D  There's a guy who looks almost exactly like Kojima here, it's amazing... every time I see him I have a burst of giant-robot-induced joy.

How're y'all?
Hoy, Vector! Hopefully you'll be on a little more? Unfortunately, I am still for to suck at Math. However, I aim to not suck so much at English! I have four very pretentious Literature/English classes this semester.
