The miracle of a new year.

Also yeah bonfire for the new year. That thing just would not start before the countdown, no matter how much gas was around. These were guys who were borderline pyromaniacs confused as to why the thing would not light.

And right then, the moment the new year entered

 BOOM

Gigantic-ass pillar of flame. This is some biblical stuff right here.

I made it home, finally, after about 18 hours of travel~
I knew I had ordered some things, but there were more packages waiting for me than I had remembered buying~
Turns out a friend of mine got me a soldering iron~~ :D

The other stuff was just underwear and shit I had bought~
Including some pink and white striped armwarmers from japan with the subtitle 'super kawaii harajuku legwear'~
Super kawaii is an understatement~

Playing And Yet It Moves to get the achievement.  Looked it up on youtube, top comment "Playing this game again makes me want to shoot myself"

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

This video. Just.. this video.

EDIT: How the hell had I forgotten this one from the same guy.

Well, OK, pretty much everything ever posted on BA under time lapse, but that one especially.

I'm not sure if this counts as something to be "Happy" about, but I appreciate the absurdity of it.  Me and Duke were just talking Steam Sales, and I bought Shogun 2 as a White Elephant Christmas present for him, at the exact moment that he bought it for himself.

Not exactly Gift of the Magi, but the fact that Steam has absolutely no refunds for any reason puts in that territory.
A similar thing happened to by brother regarding Portal 2. He bought the game for me as a Christmas gift, and then as he was doing some achievements, he got a -50% off for the same game. Hilarity ensues. Mind you, he got the -50% off Portal 2 JUST after I have opened my gift up.

He was just as pissed off as I was when I exchanged 21 pieces of coal, only to get 3 copies of -25% off Valve consecutively.

In other news, enjoying that Quantum Leap is on G4. I missed that show.

The coupons are all worthless anyway. Everything they are for are already off that much or more from the sale. And they are only good for two months after.

Actually, I got a couple that I have wanted. At least one of them I really wanted (-50% Sonic Generations). When I regain the funds I lost during the sale, I'll be ordering that and maybe making some use of the other coupons (still good for exchange or giveaway, since coal is no longer valid).

Pnx

Met up with N today, it was something of a productive conversation, even if nothing actually happened. Now I'm in the mood to do something productive before I get engaged in a game of some form. Maybe I'll actually start reading the second half of the hunchback of notre dame. I was doing this attempt at a commentary on it while I read it, but I think I may just give up on that altogether.

Holy crap, I am relearning to code.  Including my fundamental rule - don't be afraid to do things the meathead way, as long as it works.  In this case, I don't know how to make a C# Switch-statement work with the ConsoleKey method, so I'm just making a whopping huge ladder of If-statements to convert the ConsoleKey read into a dummy byte, which is then sent to the Switch.

There's probably a much more elegant way of coding this exact same functionality, but fuck that, I don't know the entire glossary of C# statements.  If you can't find it, grind it.

When I was doing C++ I could never get the hang of where statements (or was it when statements?), so I used massive amounts of if then statements. Which made for really ugly inelegant code that functioned worse and got criticized by my teachers.

I am a leaf on the wind.
I am lighter than a slice of bread.
I am a hippo in a tutu.

Fuck elegance, my program works.  I can successfully create a one-keypress command input with alts, shifts, and controls.  I officially have an interface.  Nothing can stop me now.

Except maybe drawing the window, that looks like a bitch and a half to get right.  I really need a C# dictionary.

Just saw a bird of prey perched on the back-yard fence. Not sure what kind, but the front is a reddish-brown and the back has white-and-black stripes. Pretty awesome.
