It's been a while. It has.

It's weird like that. It is.

I just learned when, how and why use 'the' in English language. No more wondering what the heck that thing is :D

* Haspen gets EXP in English!
Wait, what? ... Isn't that pretty basic?

Oh, that's because I overslept for the very first English lesson in primary school. It was about alphabet pronounciation in English and 'the'.

Whilst I now know about 'the', I still don't know how to pronounce English letters :P

Meh Hasp. Neither do most english speakers. We just kinda' muddle along with whatever the folks around us are saying.

E: There is something entirely too amusing about doing accounting practice in a spreadsheet program and making the credit amount for an entry a reference to the cell with the debit amount. Debits equal credits, ahahaha!

Does English have a case system, or even a necessary subjunctive?  Noooo.  Stop yer imperialist complaining :P
Don't you have three cases for personal pronouns and two for nouns?

Yeah, a little, but it's not enough to call English something other than analytic.

Not my fault that English guys got curbstomped by Normans so easily :P

EDIT: Apparently, it's means both it is and it has. Woah. Such strange contraction xD

I think there is more context usually,

"It's (it has) been raining" (in  the past and now) vs. "It's (it is) raining" (now) vs. "T'was (it was) raining" In the past, but not now. But only a pretentious twat 'twas'ses.

Whilst is also one of those words that is jarring when you here it. While works much better in modern English.

Conversation about adults who play Pokemon in the office.  That was fun.  My manager was all staunch manly man about it.  I made sure they knew that I've never been a pokemon player (and I haven't), but when it was all over, I offered to sing the Jigglypuff song for him.  His emphatic "No, please don't"s were golden.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Done all the sidequests.  Time to put the smackdown on the final bits of Mass Effect 2.
