I SURVIVED THE CONFIRMATION THINGMAJIG (basically a second cousin getting confirmed ala christianity), and everything actually went a whole lot smoother than i was expecting. The churchy bit made me feel out of place, but at least the organist(?) played some ballin' jazz at the end. Not even kidding, PIPE ORGAN JAZZ. That, and the lead singer had a fuckin' beautiful voice, so that's always nice.

The celebratory part after that was also nice, with delicious food galore and, for once, some people in the same age group as me and my brother! Enough that we actually had a table for ourselves, which did NOT include little children. Younger than most of my extended family i may be, but i can (kind of sadly i guess) no longer call myself a child, so i'm glad i didn't have to sit at the kiddie table. :v

Best of all, my bowels didn't freak out, even though i didn't manage to empty them before we went there. In fact, it was only 12 hours after i woke up that i finally got to do number two properly, and of course, by then i wasn't feeling terribly well, which wasn't unexpected at all. But, all things considered, it's been extremely managable, and i didn't have to stop eating out of severe stomach discomfort, but rather because i was full. For that, i am grateful, because as mentioned, the food was DELICIOUS.

So, three positive surprises in one day, even though i had to get up early. I am entirely okay with this. c:
