Super Nerdgasm:

I got the btrfs_win driver to work reliably with imdisk ramdisk driver. (both are free and foss. The former is very much work in progress though.)

I now have a compressed windows ramdisk that is actually worth a shit. :D

(It was a pain in the butt to set up, but works reliably. I have temp folder and browser caches pointed there to save my ssd. I allocated a disk big enough to run games out of as well.

silly human.

HDDs havent had LED connectors since the 90s. :P

No, why am I so happy about the above nerdgasm?

Well-- btrfs supports a much better compression algorithm called zstd.  It only gets twice the compression rates that ntfs compression gives, AND it does not fragment the files it produces that way into shitloads of 4kb fragments all over the goddamn drive like ntfs compression does.  So yeah.  (raspberry)

That's the challenge: Ya have to make a bridge over the busy signal output of the hdd before the motherboard, fire a transistor and turn on the LED. It is ridiculous, and very soon you will find yourself doing it.

At this stage however? Probably time to start bashing MBR partitioning.

On Netflix I watched the first episode of "On Children" about Taiwanese kids being overpressurized to perform by their nagging parents, but told through the lens of a Twilight Zone plot twist. There's five episodes, each one a full 90 minutes movie length, so basically it's a collection of 5 movies, not a series, and I watched the first one.

It's about a divorced mother who is real disappointed in her lying son and so she makes a Mephistophelean deal with a supernatural businessman to get a remote that lets her control time and trap her son in a Groundhog Day loop, and every time he misbehaves she rewinds time and forces him to replay the day until he behaves like the GOOD SON THAT GETS PERFECT GRADES AND GOES TO COLLEGE like she wants! Of course, only she and her son get to retain their memories when time is shifted like this, so information from every time loop can actually be put to good use. Not to spoil too much:

Pros:
- I'm a sucker for Groundhog Day movies.
- It was a good twist on a solid premise.
- I think all the actors did a really solid job
- You can really feel how frustrating it must be to be a normal 15 year old Taiwanese boy when your Mom is a Time Lord.

Cons:
- Main character dabs at one point.

So to give an overall grade, the movie gets a D, for Dabbing.

I got what I hope is a better job than my current one. It's got better hours, by which I mean still only around 20 a week, but not all crammed into 2 days. I've found that hours spread in the week is much less dread-inducing than a big cluster.

Some people like that, for instance you can get 12-hour shifts 3 days a week.

I think most people hate that, though. Good for you for finding a more relaxed schedule!

I work 40 hours a week but it's sorta split. Two off, one on, one off, three on, repeat.

I used to work 20 hour weeks over two nights, now I work 20 hour weeks over 5 days.

Probably better as the latter since it’s easier to stick to a routine.
