Jesus.

Don't know any trans people IRL, but turns out I've been fucking surrounded by them online. What's up with that?

I dunno, but likelihood is that soon you're gonna be wading through trans people IRL too.

After a painful breakup a while ago, one of my best friends is falling for a new guy who seems like a massive improvement on her ex.

Tale as old as time I'm sure, but after all the suffering she had to go through it's been great to see her just melt into grinning happy mush.

Same seems to be happening for a friend of mine too!

Do trans people tend to pool in depressions and are they notoriously liquid?

That's both too real for the happy thread and too lewd for b12, but yes, sometimes.

I mean, I meant it literally, but now that you mention it it *is* a bit sad and lewd.

please keep napkins and hand towels ready in case you spill any gender fluids

I joined a friend for some thrift shopping and some speeches from indigenous peoples about their experiences and their connections to the land. The thrift shopping didn't actually end up happening since we spent so much time listening to the speeches, but that's okay because there was so much to glean from hearing indigenous historians recant firsthand their struggles in aggregating their own history and how they came to be where they are, how essential their oral tradition is to their culture and historical record, how much that's been interrupted in their post-genocide world and how much we as a nation have taken from them, and how recent so much of that is, down to 'a few grandmothers ago.'

We did a lot of genocide to the native Americans.

I mean, it's definitely not a happy thing that it happened, but I'm very happy I had the chance to listen and reflect.

Then we went on a cave tour. Made for a fun day.

I feel like it's been four or more years since the last "Sigged into a sigthread" kvetch by anyone that I recall.  Count this as one!  I find it annoying but it's also utilitarian, using the software we have.  It has, in fact, become part of the culture to record things in a linked record because the sig-space is too small.

That’s the thing though, because the space is limited it makes what you do have sig’d that much more special because you can only have so much. Sig threads make it less special because you can just add any old thing to it, like sharing something on FaceSpaceBookPartyBo

Who needs a sig thread when you keep the same few things in your sig forever.
