Oh god, most fortunate thread stumble-upon ever! All my forts now will have a sanctuary with the image of Tholtig.

I really want that one as a "when". I want "grubs", and "virgin woman" to turn into a dragon. and monkey children to suddenly sprout wings. And I want the Dwarven Mutant Academy to only gain their powers upon reaching puberty. I also have a whole host of odd creatures that only make sense if I divide them into children and adults.

Also, tadpoles.

Utterly fantastically beautiful. Mind if I add this to the wiki?

Edit: It has been added.

Engraved on the wall is a masterful burningpet rendition of Tholtig Cryptbrain the Waning Diamond. Tholtig Cryptbrain the Waning Diamond is glowering. This relates to the One Hundred And Eighty Fifth glowering in Circletower.

I just found this, and thought it was cool.

It's a Circletower discovered by someone who used Embark Anywhere on Tholtig's ruined mountainhome.

The rooms are bare and empty now that everything inside them has been stolen or fallen to pieces, but you can still see the empty great hall where the Queen and her clan once sat and sang over mugs of Dwarven Ale.

Engraved on the monitor is an exceptionally designed image of FPS in Dwarf Fortress and it's multicore support by Toady. Toady is raising the multicore. The artwork relates to the masterful multicore support by Toady for the Dwarf Fortress in midwinter of 2010. Toady is surrounded by dwarves. The dwarves are rejoicing.

Technically, no dwarf had beards in 40d, because they weren't simulated yet...though the default for modern female dwarves is to go clean-shaven.

Out of curiosity, what - exactly - does it mean when Legends mode says something was smashed? I was hopping through the legends mode for some of the heroes and their foes, and I noticed it would occasionally say something was "smashed." It seemed self-explanatory, the smashing equivalent of being lopped off, but I noticed that, for example, with Idala, the killer of Tosid, that her lower body was "smashed" by Tholtig, although Idala would not die until some years later in a fight with Logem. In 40d, wasn't a lower torso smashing instantly fatal?

I believe that it means that a blunt weapon (eg: warhammer) was used to inflict heavy damage on the body part, not killing the victim.
