Thanks for all the feedback guys! We're getting somewhere now :)
Don't need any more testers for now, but we should be able to publish something useful very soon, so stay tuned :)

How large is your region? because of some dumb hardcoded mistake I made in the latest build, I think you have to have 5x5 or 6x6 or something. So sorry about that, it's totally fixable.

Another question, would this also work with maps that have graphic packs (mayday) or will i always have to move the save to the vanilla version?

I have no idea, I'd say "try it". Don't think there's any reason for it not to work.
Graphics packs, is that when you put stuff int the raw/graphics folder?

Aye.  But the Mayday graphics pack comes packaged with edits to various raws so that certain things that aren't creatures can have more appropriate sprites.  Something like that.  I don't use it, so there may be other stuff I don't know about.

Alternately: The Brick Testament. It's a really fun look at what the bible would look like if interpreted literally. With Legos.
Just so I remember

It shouldn't affect this visualizer because it's stored the same in memory and the only changes are graphical or organizational(economy stone) in nature.  I.E. nothing is added.

basically an oak tree is an oak tree all DFG does is change the representation of it on your screen.

A Mod that actually adds new things like...say....a plant mod that adds 12 different kinds of Oak Trees may confuse any visualizer if it's not able to recognize what the new objects are.

TLDR; mayday should work fine.

Even then if you design it right it would work. Just have a default image/tile for all items of say MATGLOSS_WOOD. If you encounter an object of that type and don't know about the subtype (Oak, Willow, etc.) then just draw the generic.

Hey guys, I've been hard at work all day, and Solifuge's been helping me out with artwork, so I thought it was time to let you all see how our work is coming. Time for a little sneak preview.

Nice job jonask, it looks like you have water level heights and most terrain features already.  The area looks to be a larger then a single map 'cell' at 25 x 27.  Can you do whole the maps yet?  Though imagine scaling the image is an issue at that point.  Keep it up your pace so far is excellent.

I've drawn a table, a stool, a bed and a still:

This is how they look on the map:

Do you like it, jonask84?

P.S. [edit]: a bigger bed:
