I can give you guys the source to my project and we can trade ideas.
It's all in C++ though.

I hope 7z is okay. I have actually gotten this to run on the computers at my college,
 but it only runs on some XP computers, not all of them. I have no idea why.

The run file is in the debug folder.
Please be patient during the first green progress bar. It takes a while, but it does a lot of stuff all at once.

Once the world is generated (it will display a portion on the screen) you can type in 0 followed by enter to get a list of commands.

20 takes control of "orange". Try to get to the core, it's a fun challenge.
