My wisdom tooth is bothering me. It doesn't hurt, but I'm pretty sure that like 40% of it is just gone. I can feel suction inside my mouth where the rest of that tooth is supposed to be.

There's the physical discomfort. I have no idea how it got so bad without me noticing, so I feel like an idiot slob. I can't get it fixed any time soon due to impending continued chemotherapy, so my x-rays will expire, meaning I'll have to pay yet more out of pocket. As if I didn't feel beaten down enough lately..

Was driving past this castle the other day. It's a further sad that my mum's friend was murdered a short way away at a later date, and she always points out his grave as we go past. Of course, she nearly died when she was pregnant with my elder brother when the IRA tried to blow up her work-place, so I should be happy she's not buried near him. My dad still gets extremely anxious when cars are stopped and waiting suspiciously near our home, because the IRA were killing the male heirs to Protestant farms and encouraging Catholics to buy the property once it came on the market.

I suppose my sad is a general sadness that the narrative of Irish victimhood spread at a state-level (and often bought wholesale outside of Ireland) makes the whole thing extremely one-dimensional and ignores my parents' suffering, and less-so my own (there were bombs planted outside my school after the supposed 'end' of the troubles.)

The world sucks, in other words.

Well, time to close another chapter in my life. Found out today I'm getting laid off at the end of the month. It's not the end of the world or anything, it comes with a decent severance package and I'll have plenty of time to find a new job. But I will miss this one and especially the team I was on.

Chest bruises are the worst, especially since I've got them in the most humiliating way possible.

Nope, got an eyelash stuck in my eye, and it was so painful that I got dizzy and fell down on my way to the kitchen.

But thank you, you've extracted a laugh from my bruised chest.

Sometimes when I get in a really bad mental place  I feel as if my entire body starts to break down.

It worries me a lot.

I'm tired because I'm stressed, and I'm stressed because I'm tired. My brain has resorted to emotional numbing to cope. I'm not sure what point I'm making, I probably need to sleep. None of this is rhyming, my mind's probably dying.

So today i met a friend from geology study on my way to campus. That's a good thing, he's still a swell dude, was great to see him again. So why in here? Well, turns out he's been operated for pancreatic cancer and is now going through rehabilitation. He was walking on his own two feet and looked and acted like himself, but man, hearing that a friend of yours, around your own age, has been dealing with cancer is a fucking punch. I do believe he'll be fine eventually, says they believe they got all the cancer out, and he'll be on a treatment for the next some years, and he's a tough dude, but damn. Nobody should have to deal with that shit, especially not this early in life.
