Those are rookie numbers! You gotta pump those numbers up!

You shouldn't feel bad about sleeping in even that much. Especially since it's just been New Year's.

People. Blergh.

In the midst of a global pandemic, there exists individuals who run with the notion that it is not a thing to care about. Said people, as a result of decades of manipulation via politics, deny objective reality and replace it with whatever batshit insane ideology they latch on to.

So, when multiple expert agencies point out that the pandemic in my part of the world is in a large way driven by the new UK covid variant passing through high school age kids, and that learning should move to remote strategies to bring the exponential spread of CoVid under greater control, what do they do? They fill social media with the most vile attacks directed at teachers like me who merely do not want pupils and thier families to end up in an ICU. Because we are nothing more than workshy and incompetent, fit only to childmind and die.

I have never felt so uselessly angry.

After this 3-4 weeks sage, my dog was put down, what he had was basically inevitable from when we got him 2 and a half years ago but the time was not, I know putting him down now and not in and not waiting another week but I'm still sad.

Today saw passing of Alexi Laiho, ex-vocalist and lead guitar of Children of Bodom.

Now, I am not too sentimental of people of celebrity (if he passes as one, dunno). Death is, in my field of work, quite close part of human life, so many people who I have looked up at when child/youth/adult have died and I haven't been too sad.

That said, CoB and mr. Laiho, in retrospect, were great part of my youth and particularily the torrentous times when my id hadn't yet formed. I feel that without cathartic anger and rage they provided through music my adult life might had become quite different from difficult, yet still acceptable to... Well, I'd like to think of myself as straight to fault person, but there has been very very bad times for me. Metal has been great part of keeping me from those dark places, and that path was galvanized by mr. Laiho.

Shiet, this feels little cheesy after writing it down. But frankly, this is probably only place I ever will express these thoughts. Rest in Peace, world's greatest guitarist.
