Uh no every single one was the result of "ending up" somewhere after a thousand applications, 90% were never read by a person before falling into a trash can.  Assuming the regret isn't instant the moment I walk in for an interview.  It's never for any merit on my part just the employer happened to be stupid and desperate enough for anyone.

I've done this song and dance five times and it takes one mistake to lose everything.

Well I refuse to believe that I have charisma, so the only other advice I can come up with is find a place that let's their employees use their forklifts without permit, or go make a forklift permit. Ever since that's been on my resume shit's been manageable, eventho it was irrelevant to later jobs.

There was a person training to be a manager at my previous place of employment who got his forklift license then immediately lost it by driving a forklift tine through a door.

Oi, Roboto. Maybe the peeps here are on to something. A licence followed by a forklifting job (or e.g. a welder) could be your thing. The initial investment is rather low, the job tends to pay alright, doesn't require 25 years of experience, and most importantly - no customers to nag you.

Fuuuuuck I wish I could weld. I never saw the appeal in the job, but had I learned it, I'd be using that skill CONSTANTLY for myself. Here in europe it requires a way bigger initial investment, usually several years, but half my clique from my natal village is welder and they are doing absolutely fine.

Sound of your grandfather starting to aspirate on his deathbed is probably one of the worst sounds in the world.

Unfortunately dying's rarely ever peaceful. It certainly wasn't for my dad.

I hope you're doing well, or at least as well as you can in the circumstances. Losing a loved one really sucks.
