Quote
Travis asked his wife if she could answer, "How long does it take to travel 80 miles if you are going 80 MPH?" She couldn't answer the question because she first was very exhausted but also because she put way too much thought into the possibilities. This happens to even the most intelligent!

Of course it's just because she's uneducated, right?

Sad and disappointed in the U.S. Educational system
Wow.

Just wow.

So yeah, how long does it take you to travel 80 miles per hour, if you are going 80 MPH?

Uhh... uhh...

"If I'm driving 80 miles per hour, that means I'm driving 80 miles per hour"
"No you're not!"

The blonde makes compelling arguments.

Well, the guy was baiting and frustrating her, and kinda came across as a dick too. She started overthinking things, and got frustrated when he set her up to look like an idiot.

She actually guessed 58 minutes, that's quite close.

Actually, while she expressed it poorly, she actually has a point. Kind of.

If you are going 80mph, according to your speedometer, and travel for an hour, you will actually travel less than 80 miles, /even/ if you manage a perfectly straight line, due to wheel slippage. A cars speedometer only measures the speed of the wheels, not the speed of the vehicle.

However he did not say anything about the speedometer, he's literally just going 80MPH.

This video is more telling about the man driving. Snickering boor. Who films his wife struggling with a sophomoric question? A man for whom I have neither respect nor patience, that’s whom.

Very much agreed on that. No man should get his laughs by putting his wife down in front of thousands of internet strangers. I just find the whole thing embarrassing and cruel.

I smell a troll, myself.

EDIT: Also, stupid pharmacy technician certification exam costs $129. That is a lot of monies. I'll still be just barely positive this month, and I had to pay it sometime, but it still stings.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I just learned that a close family member passed away. Have some guests over at present too, and I don't particularly want to make a deal about it, but I'm kinda crying a bit.
