A wild floating point rounding error has appeared.

And it's making me sad because I don't know how to solve this.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The circular sectors ('pie slices') in blue should have a central angle of 90 degrees, but obviously they don't. :(

This. Looks exactly like some sailor somewhere stumbled on something he wasn't supposed to find.

It's all better now!

Except I have a problem where a single slice doesn't behave correctly—it rotates counter-clockwise while the double slices rotate clockwise.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I feel pretty burnt out.

EDIT: Like, I am actually scared of job apps.

I can empathize. I had one of my fits of rage today at work when one of the staff dismissed rudely my concerns about not being a paper trail noting that a full member of the staff ordered an invasive procedure.

In the end she made some lame amends (no correction of this, though), and decided to smoke the pipe of peace for the time being.

However, the tiredness after the initial fury burst remained. :/

Yeah.  I've done everything but the cover letter for this one job I really want and I've been procrastinating on it a little.

Another job I really want... I should really apply to three today, in total, which means I'll have to make another resume.

Yea. I have pulled yet another programming Hail Mary out of my ass at the last minute and performed feats of coding and overtime... But that was last pay period, and there is no flex time rollover. so I now sit here at work exhausted, and bored because I can't leave and they wont give me any normal work to do in case some more shit hits the fan.

Wish I knew what to say about the procrastinating thing, I don't even really know how to stop myself procrastinating.

Nah, it's not that big of a problem.  I'm writing the letter right now.  Just wish I'd written it Thursday evening, which was the earliest possible time I could have done it.  I would have gotten happy juices for getting stuff done early, as opposed to getting sort-of-happy juices for getting it down around on time.

What I've been told is that the key to stopping procrastination is empathy with your future self (from a very good source).

Job application periods never fail to leave me sprawled on the floor in tears for hours, so at the very least you seem to be handling the whole thing better than I do.
