Problem with not relying on other people is it's pretty much impossible to get anything meaningful done otherwise. The days of the world changing individual are pretty much dead, and have been for a few decades now. Same for pretty much any scale over a small town, really... if that.

'Course, even the great individuals of yesteryear usually did a great deal of what they did only with the aid and support of other people. Funny how that works...

... which really is kinda' a sad thing because it can be a royal pain the hindquarters to actually do. Whoever noted it as being as hard as herding cats has obviously never actually herded cats, which honestly isn't that difficult. Far less troublesome than getting people moving in the same direction, towards the same goal

Chris Latta (the original Cobra Commander and Starscream voices) should be a car voice.  He died nineteen years ago, though. I don't think He even lived to see talking cars, except on tv.

Oh, but it is quite true indeed. A particularly hard truth for internet nerds, but one that should be recognized all the same. When I was but a child, they told me I was very gifted intellectually. And to their credit, they were right. But what they didn't tell me, what even they did not realize, is that an individual's intellect is only a part of what can bring you greatness. Because I could coast so easily, and because they let me do it because of my natural talent, I eventually found myself lost and without the will to achieve when reality finally caught up with that talent.

Anyway, my point is you should try to work yourself as far as you can push it, regardless of how smart you think you are.
