It's not even December yet, and there's already no escaping all the Xmas baloney.  Damn, but I hate this season, which ruins the beauty and solace of winter, year after year.
Hear hear! Bah humbug!

I'm so close to being free from drug court, and suddenly a wild depression sinks in. This has helped a bit... But goddamn. I need to get this shit done, then I can want to kill myself all I would ever want. Just two months of 50-60 hour work weeks and then everything will be better. Also I will be able to finally return to my natural state once more. So close, I don't need this. Not now.

Well, we could put two and two together and write a book: "The Shit that Hans and Max Did: You Won't Believe This Shit."
He's fucking with us.

Try to distance yourself from the conclusions of your emotional mind and operate as fully as possible in the rational. There's no real reason to give up now, you're at the point of maximum loss if you do.

Also, add on the fact that social coercion makes gift-giving meaningless.  I'd much rather receive a tiny gift, at any time of the year, than have friends and family blow their rent and food budgets out of a feeling of obligation.

I tend to just grab small things to give to friends as I see them and have the extra pocket-change to do something nice.  Usually while shopping for books, but that's just me.

Le sigh.

I tried to see if you can legally purchase human skulls (I want one as a paperweight). You can, but they'll run you a grand and a half at least.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

... man, I shouldn't confront my brain with statements like that this early in the day. My immediate thought was "check the local laws; it's entirely possible the civil/criminal penalties for grave robbing may cost less." Then I went and checked and... it looks like the maximum penalty in some areas of the USA is only 1k USD with no jail time involved, potentially less, potentially more depending on area and particularities.

That right there. That's thinking like a corporation, it is. Also why you generally make the fine more than the cost of compliance when you're creating regulatory laws, haha!
