Good luck. May your phone arrive swiftly, delivered on angels' wings (this will be a relatively accurate description, but possibly only because of who you're switching from).

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Flat tire D:

One of our truckers had a flat tire yesterday.  Only 15 minutes from the end of a 9 hour drive.  I cringed a bit when I saw that.

Daaaaamn. That just sucks.
I was "lucky" enough to get a flat (or discover it, at least) at the delivery location. At least I managed to get unloaded.

Er, no. That can only happen when a tire bursts, which typically only happens at high speeds. I was moving slowly and am now stopped, so a burst is extremely unlikely.

Had to take our dog of 11 years to be put down yesterday. He had something like a doggie stroke a few days ago, and had been going downhill rapidly. My ex couldn't deal with the stress of it, so I wound up doing it after she had spent all morning going ballistic on me in text messages.

He was a good dog.  :(

Who are you going through? I've never had that much trouble ordering a phone.

Straight Talk.  It's Walmart's proprietary phone service, so.  'M swapping to Sprint.
Ah. I've been Verizon for a good long while, and they make things pretty easy. Doesn't hurt that we get a pretty big employer discount.

ever felt like mindless chatter but had no place to do it at?

wanted to make a "random bullshit" thread for a moment to do so on

reconsidered, as it'd gain toady's ire for sounding close to "dumb shit people say" that got locked down

tumblr, which i used to heavily bash, is being more and more inviting though i'd have to join a community and it took me two fucking years to join this one properly so yeah

fuck i've been playing an album of smooth jazz in my head for like half of its duration when i were taking a shower i don't even know anymore

Mindless chatter, you say? that can be arranged. Tell me, why do you type without using shift? I've been curious about that for a while now.

LordSlowpoke, come join us in IRC. it's the best place for mindless chatter, and you don't even have to join a new community.

I really need to go to the doctor and get my PTSD under control.  This isn't working for me.

I was just let go, so apparently this will be waiting a while.
