I'm hiding my poems and stories, not porn, because poetry is frowned upon in my family.
For real?
My parents would be ecstatic if I was writing poetry with any level of competence.

Keep doing that poetry and hone your skills. Enkindle the inner flame of passion and let it grow.
(also pretty much improve it by talking to people with much experience in literature :3)
Also you do poetry gud. Keep doing it :I

I also have my Warhammer 40K rulebook in there, because pen and paper games are, of course, the devil.

*Ponders existance*
Oh dear me :/
Fear.

I'm litteraly having to run my D&D game from memory because when I was a kid, I had more fun reading the vast archives of supplement books and making character sheets than actually playing.
I miss that.

Also, thanks, Tiru, I really like writing poems.

:O
Train thy memory :3
Though seriously. *pat pat* for ya :\ I don't like how fear, under the guise of thinking that the deed done is good, hinders activities that are otherwise extremely subjective to be said to be 'evil'.
...And by that I'm talking about tabletop games. :v
Ooooo I can go on a Wall of Textual rant on these things but >_>

Heh, my parents were happy two summers ago when I started. They quickly got bored. Now, whenever I show them something (Which is rare, because I get embarrassed) My mother tears it apart. I mean, she's trying to make it better, but still.

I find it creepy when my mother sneaks up behind me to see what I'm doing on the computer. Or when anyone does that, really.

Even worse is when it's commandeered so that she can look through my stuff to see what I'm doing.
My brother does this. Every single fucking day.

He sneaks up behind me while I'm on my phone, too. "Soooooo what're you doing?"

Judging by the excuses he gives me when I yell at him for constantly coming over and seeing what I'm doing (by coming into my room and laying in my bed, trying to look as casual as possible) he is positive that I constantly watch porn in secret and he's trying to catch me doing it.

My parents kind of got used to me blithely drawing hentai while sitting in front of them.

I have no shame.

Clearly the solution is to find something so horrifying he will never dare come near you again.

On a related note, my stepdad had (has? not really sure it's persisted) a thing about trying his hardest to prevent me from viewing pornography and/or catch me doing so, not sure if the latter was just part of the former though. Instil in me a paranoia about him. Used to say he'd check the router's logs to see what everyone had been up to. Then later installed some filter that is annoying and overbearing.

Honestly though despite his job being computers he's not very savvy about them in general.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

C-Career?
I don't think I'm good enough to be a professional poet/author.
And I wouldn't even know how to get into something like that...

But thanks, again. It makes me happy to know someone enjoys it.

Send poems to your local newspaper. Create a decently sized compilation and send to a publisher.
