I've tried guitar before. I even still have one. I just have a problem with instant gratification where it's tough for me to pick up a new hobby that I can't see obvious results from within a couple days. That's why I started picking up programming.

Thought about relationships and stuff while reading the happy thread. Realized that i continue to be lonely and ignored by everyone I meet. Is sad now.

Playing guitar just isn't fun. I've gotten out of the habit of playing, it's hard to get back into the habit of playing. It's just...eh. Meh. Bleh. Can't stay focused on it. Don't feel excited to play. It's just become a thing I could do, if I felt like it. And I don't feel like it. And that's a bummer.

Had it in Summer this year. Just leave it. Keep it in sight, but don't play it. When you feel like it again, get back to it. If you force yourself to play, you will not benefit from it.

Do you fear social situations? I know they can even feel lonely, but sometimes going out and people watching helps. Go out, dance at a dance club. Be around others, maybe buy a woman or man a drink.

I thought I was alone and ignored while I was in a relationship and had friends. Sometimes people don't express how much they care until it is too late. I don't know your situation though. But if you don't suffer from SAD, try getting out there and maybe you'll at least find some spontaneous companionship.

But yea, the world is a lonely place some time.

I've been sick for all of Christmas.  Woke up with aches and chills on Christmas Eve and it hasn't yet completely subsided.  Argh.

I guess I should have been expecting it considering how stressed out I am all of the time.  My mom said that she tends to get sick after she's been stressed for a long time and suddenly has a chance to relax.  Guess it's the same for me.

Good thing I had from Wednesday until Monday off.  Looks like I'll need all of it to recover.

This whole console debacle in my house just sort of makes me completely uninterested in this gen.

Stress actually lowers leucocyte (white blood cell) count, lowering your immunity, although I'm not 100% certain if it wasn't cellular stress. So it's quite possible

At least you have a pseudo-complete family. Take some solace in that, it's deceptively rare in the modern era.

Hurghblurgh why do people wake up this early? Why, work, do you make me wake up this early?

Remember: your dedication to work, above your own personal preference and comfort, is good. It is the only true good. Morally good. Society expects you to be moral. Arise.

My problem is that I have plenty of friends, but I end up crushing on about half of them. Then the other half crushes on me, with no overlap between the two. Also for some reason everyone I like that isn't a friend (and therefor knows and hangs out with all my other friends) is in a position where a relationship would be prohibited because of professional reasons.

Either it's a lot of coincidences, or I apparently have a thing for cute feminine-type people with positions of power over me... Which honestly would not surprise me.

Caz  I certainly hope you're not suggesting what I think you're suggesting :V

As for crushes and whatnot, I've been in a somewhat similar situation myself. They've all been terribly one sided affairs of me falling for a friend (which is the only thing I can do apparently because not knowing someone makes it kinda hard for me to like them in any way except physical), risking it and getting turned down. We'd either be friends afterwards or it would sorta fall apart over time.

This time though, it's been somewhat different. For the first time ever I think I felt it go both ways (that is, the affection), I'm still not sure, I just know that this was something that never happened to me before and it was both terrifying and amazing at the same time. Except this time I'm unwilling to risk it, she's far too good of a friend for me to risk pushing away by looking for something that might not be there.

Oh well, one day perhaps, one day.
