Who's Mugabe?
What's google?

That thing that I can say to you any time you ask a question.

So, any time you ever want to know anything, the answer from me will always be "Google."

You're on the internet. Basic encyclopedic knowledge is at your fingertips. Asking a question that requires no expertise, deeper insight or specific point of view to answer is just showing laziness. A trait generally perceived as negative.
Whether that's something you care to be associated with or not is purely up to you, but don't be surprised if somebody calls you out on it every now and then.

tl;dr: It's polite to do at least a cursory google search before asking something, and many of us do.

Who's Mugabe?

My next-door neighbour who beats his wife but no-one reports it because he does it quietly.

Oh, thanks. It went missing for a bit, and we wanted to use Google to find it again, but...

Probably, but apparently there'll be a lot of shit you'll have to sift through. Looking through requests is a reasonably common group activity in my college, and a remarkable number of middle aged men haven't figured out what is and isn't creepy.

We ended up having to go ask bing.  Which lead to us having to do a bunch of other stuff first, but eventually we found it.

I was in bed for about 10 hours and slept for maybe 5 of them. I'm not sure if I'm sick, but my digestion has sure been behaving as though I am.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
