I'm now unemployed.
Damn, that's unfortunate. Why?

Korean ferry capsized near Jeju island.

70%ish of the 400 passengers are probably dead underwater. Such a terrible fate for them and their family, left behind.

Saw that. Large majority of the passengers were high school students apparently.  :(

Here, have a dose of morbid reality.

Parents pace uneasily in front of a list of students on the ferry,  with confirmed rescues highlighted. This will be a long night for them.

:( I'm going to go to bed now, nursing my worst fear ... >_>

It's starting to look like even if I get thinner I will still look ugly.
Fuck. Genes.
Have you thought about changing your aesthetic ideals? That usually helps, at least a bit~
It should not be this ridiculously difficult to look androgynous.
You'd be surprised. Plus, people tend to default to male when they can't tell what a person's gender is.

I default to 'Hesheit' :P

* Iceblaster dons a monocle and top hat and walks off
Default to 's/h/it' instead. Much more accurate.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

My preference, when being referred to, from most preferred to least.
Him
Her
They
That asshole
Made up pronouns like hir

I guess for myself it'd be:
Him
They
That asshole
Her
Made up pronouns like hir (Although I have thankfully never heard any of those anyway!)

It's funny, I remember an instance when I was a little kid, walking somewhere with one of my siblings in the city.
I saw a group of goths, with pale skin, long black hair, lots of black velvet and ankhs etcetera. Little-kid-me was fascinated by their appearance, and pointed out "those girls over there" to my sibling, only for them to explain they were actually boys.
Now, years later, I'm the one with long hair and slim build who suffers the occasional case of mistaken gender. :P

I intended to do that joke, but decided not to post. What gives?

Damn love sickness again. Still wanting really hard to tell her how I feel about, still afraid she won't accept my feelings.

Maybe it's my fault, I'm trying to apply logic to my feelings

No, but Boolean might work.

You have two possibilities, two actions and two possible outcomes.

Possibility A: She will reciprocate your feelings.
Possibility B: She won't reciprocate your feelings.

Action A: Tell her.
Action B: Do nothing.

Outcome A: Happies result.
Outcome B: No happies.

P(A) AND A(A)=O(A)
P(A) AND A(B)=O(B)
P(B) AND A(A)=O(B)
P(B) AND A(B)=O(B)

So you may only have a 25% chance overall for happies, but that increases to 50% if you choose A(A), versus 0% for A(B). What you're getting hung up on is the trying to ascertain the mathematical  value of P(A). Which can be incredibly difficult to determine from indirect observation.

Think of it as Schrodinger's Dating Service. Until you say something, she both likes you and doesn't like you. Actually telling her collapses the quantum waveform potentiality.
So if you get nervous while telling her, you can always apologize that you're nervous because you're performing a quantum physics experiment.  :P
