I know owlga uses it all the fucking time like that. She says "Dude" at least nine out of ten times instead of my name, and that's because we're married even. Heh

A friend of mine does, but that probably has something to do with her explicitly wanting to spread its usage as a gender-neutral term (which is ironic, as she once objected to me calling her a bastard, saying that was a gendered term, which it is not even in the historical sense).

I use "guy" as a gender neutral term, and "dude" is male.

Yes, it does. In German (as I recall), words come in Male, Female, and Plural Female. I've heard Plural sometimes called Machine as well, as it tends to apply to them. Which I think means that a literal translation would result in you referring to your car as being multiple women in English.
I can't help but imagine this as a bunch of women crammed under the hood, turning the wheels or whatever. This is the real secret of German engineering.

In my experience, "guys" is fairly often neutral. People try to say they use "dude" as gender neutral, but they always use it to refer to guys more than girls. I've never met anyone who uses "dude" to refer to women just as often as they do to men, and I know a lot of people who use that word.

You just used guys to refer to males in a very non-neutral fashion :P

To me, they're both male, but meh. I go with whatever the person saying it meant.

What you should of done is asked them about what would happen if you put a giant fan on a sailboat.

GWG is gone, and... Instantly everyone is badmouthing the guy. Like, sentence after "We'll all miss him" is "Thank god that ass is finally gone" instant.

I'm not entirely sure you understand the depth of silent (and open) resentment that several of the people who interacted with him built up due to his conversational style. He was polarizing to say the least.

I'm not saying he's an awesome, perfect guy, but it's just... Jeez.

Another question... Why wait until he's gone for all this?

Ninja'ed: Yes, I know he was a jerk, but still. It's just overwhelming.

Damn depression. I was told to make a list of goals, things I look forward to, etc. List? I'm not coming up with one.

That has to be bullshit doesn't it? I mean sure, I've got issues with family, friends, work, and finding a significant other, largely due to only liking men etc, but that can't kill it all can it?

Feels like a cop out in some odd way.

You just wrote a list of problems that you can set goals towards resolving, also translating into milestones and resolutions that you can look forward to.

Hyper-optimistic/not applicable to some things like family, I know... but still sort of the direction in which you need to be thinking, it looks like.  If you're not looking at your clearly recognized and in some cases conceivably resolvable problems and pairing them up with a need for goals, then you kind of are copping out.

Or maybe I'm reading your post wrong, depending on what you mean by "kill it all", which I read as killing your ability to have hopes for the future.
