Whoever said success is the best revenge is fulla shit

I'm dominating this fuckass academically and in pretty much all department, but he doesn't seem to be showing signs of regretting being a douchebag to me. He told me to go play my piano somewhere else. For fuck's sake. At least i can play piano, you shitty slob.

Success is only the best revenge if the other guy fails.

If he winds up working at a fast food place or gas station for eternity, then it worked.

I think that's because the insight to that proverb is lacking here ._. (and...must really not be judged earlier than ready, because that's..bringing in personal understanding in concluding it as so).

Success is the best revenge in things both entities value.

That person you dislike (because he's a jerk and all)? Just dominate to develop yourself. He can be a jerk--remain a jerk, and his future will be his own decision (tip: It usually ends in failure if they continue with that attitude :-\ ).

Of your concern--develop thyself. That is success. Revenge? A totally different notion.

Also all I'm saying is they ain't fulla shit...

Mine gets intolerably bushy, so at anything longer than pixie-cut length I have to tie it back or it's all over my face. It tangles. It's heavy. It's hot. It's generally a pain in the ass.

Yes, it's very pretty, but I'm much happier like this.
Curly hair is nice ._.
And glad to note the happy there. :)

Even if he ends up in the dumpster, I still wouldn't get to rub it in his face.

I mean, I could track his life, become successful, and then call him out to go fuck himself when I'm on TV or something, but that would show I am obsessed with him.

I think its in how you do it then? :P
You look nice, long hair or not.[/contesting]
This.
It can look good either way.
No way. My hair is the only interesting thing about my appearance (apart from my awesome dress sense). Even if it is curly.
I'd be tempted to try shorter hair, but not a buzzcut or anything awful like that.

I think it isn't about the revenge, but the constant gut-warming feeling of having WON.
I think if you know that, then he would be constantly feeling the gut-wrenching feeling of having lost. Maybe that's why he's a massive douche.

I always considered "success is the best revenge" to mean that when you're successful, you can *stop giving a shit* about the person, and hence revenge of "Who are you again? Laurence, come get the peasantry out, would you?"

This. So much this.

I dunno, trying to get actual revenge just seems petty to me.

Clearly, you should become a better, more successful laptop to get revenge against it.

I like growing out my hair, and would like to have longer hair, but my parents want me to cut it short every now and then. At least I used to like getting haircuts when I was young, but now they use razors, and those things terrify me.

Do you mean like a straight razor? I'd be terrified too; not just because it's not as safe as an electric razor or a safety razor, but also because the most obvious situation in which they might present an advantage over more modern razors is if the user is also a cannibalistic serial-killer

EDIT:
Whoever said success is the best revenge is fulla shit

Now that I think of it, I suppose Sweeny Todd is also relevant to this topic. Re. other tacks one might take in that regard.

Don't listen to these new age weak hippies sprouting out all this passive conflict advice.  Punch the shit out of that laptop.  Punch it till it begs for mercy.  Then, while it is sitting on the floor crying, install all the malware from all the porn sites.  Then, and only then, will you be satisfied.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
