Because it takes very little to get banned.  And there's no official appeals process, or second opinion, and all offending posts are simply gone...

I like the resulting culture of niceness and civility.  But don't get confused and think that everyone is just nice.  And I'm not happy when people start disappearing for unclear reasons.
