In my experience, the employees spend at least as much time at the self-check machines as they do at the cashier-check, just because people cannot effectively interact with a self-checkout without fucking up either A) Something or B) Everything.

I should know, I've done it myself.

It's true. Faced with any scenario where they have to read and/or push a button, most customers will just call me over and point at the screen. The entire store was nearly brought to a halt one time when a simple yes/no question utterly baffled 90% of customers, who could not figure out how to read two sentences nor touch the screen.

The machines themselves are often reminiscent of the name machine in Idiocracy.

Memes where the old guy is being wrong makes me sad. It's supposed to be the other way around!

I think he's implying the machines are assholes (or designed by them), so he's also right!

{s}So Harvard looks like a great school.{/s} Heckin CNN bypassing my filter with third party uploads...

Yeah, CNN has really been showing off how terrible of a company they can be lately (I'll leave the timespan "lately" covers to the reader).

My last chemotherapy was several weeks ago... Or so I thought. Now an ultrasound of my liver shows that that's all fucked up too. They're going to stick a huge fuck-off needle inside me and take a piece of my liver to look at, then I have to drive several hours away to a gigantic city way outside my comfort zone to go see another specialist. For all I know, it'll be another years-long goose chase for them to figure out what it actually is. The most encouraging thing the local oncologist had to say is "Your case is getting really complicated."

I still need to get my teeth fixed. By the time I get the go-ahead from my six other doctors to do that, my X-rays will be out of date and I'll have to pay out of pocket to get those done again, too. The out-of-state trip I was planning is probably kibosh as well.

I feel like I'm cursed. I can't be happy with my family, with my education, with my job, and now even my own body is turning out to be a two-faced sack of shit.

So, uh, my daughter broke her arm today.

Woo, more medical bills are about to hit. ;_;
That's too bsd. :/
On the oyher hand, she was probably too young to punch through a concrete slab like her old man would.
Nope. One of her friends was carrying her around at school and dropped her. Thankfully, the break isn't super severe, but it's still 3 weeks in a sling.

The PET scan shows a lot of unusual activity in the liver area, as well as a lymph node that's apparently still having problems right next to it.

Engraved here is a monolithic inscription. The artwork is crude. It states:

Everybody gets what they deserve.
Ooh, karma theory? That's always good fun. Makes me feel like the shitty things I've done to other people was justified, because they must've had it coming.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!

I said as much once when one of my consultants (back when I was in training. Didnt get along with him) was explaining the concept of reincarnation in Eastern Religions to one of the lab techs.  I remarked that given my  circumstances at the time I was pretty sure I must have been either a serial killer or a nazi war criminal 🤣🤣🤣

Engraved here is a monolithic inscription. The artwork is crude. It states:

Everybody gets what they deserve.

No. No no no. Fuck no. God that's a fucked-up worldview. Blaming the victim on a fucking cosmic level. Piss off. No. Bad.

Clearly, all victims of sexual assault were in fact rapists in a past life. 🤔???
