I appear to be one of the unlucky people affected by the side effects of SSRIs.

In this instance, nausea.

I was supposed to be going somewhere else today, but I can't drive when every time I yawn I have to spend 10 seconds trying my damndest not to gag.

What do you mean one of the unlucky people? Have you never read the little pamphlet you get in it? It usually lists the proportion of folk who get various side-effects, from most to least common.

I do hope it goes away though; I refused to take medication after a few years on them ‘cause I’d rather feel deep loathing for myself than deal with the side-effects.

I don't know what an SSRI is, and choose to believe that it means "Super Saiyan Rhode Island". When did this happen? How long was I asleep?!

Jokes aside, sorry that this (probably a medication) is making you feel that way. Hate it when you have to choose between nasty side effects and going without meds.

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor. Anti-depressant, that tries to elevate the levels of serotonin in yer brain.

Unfortunately there are serotonin receptors in yer brain, central nervous system, and yer gut, so the side effects can be unpleasant and wide ranging, but much better than MAOIs, which if I recall correctly stands for MonoAmine Oxidose Inhibitor, ‘cause I’m too lazy to check.

I thought maois were those big fellas with a penchant for facial tattoos who'll probably punch your face out the back of your head if you say anything about their ridiculous accent? ??? 🤔

Edit: ah crud, new page. Guess I'd better give this shitpost some substance.

26% on this one, so I'm unlucky.

I'm going to either swap or stop though, because it's also giving me palpitations for a few hours after I take it. Not in the sense of my heart missing a beat but instead beating hard.

Check out chronic loneliness and social anxiety (or general anxiety that's just trying some post-hoc justification by clinging onto anything you did when socialising)

The former's generally induced by two things: Your brain being broken by something like depression or general chemical imbalances, and a lack of high quality relationships (Note it's quality, you can have a lot of low quality ones and still get chronic loneliness).
As ever, the unfortunate thing about these is that the road to curing them is long and difficult, but the rewards at the end are being able to function like a normal human being.

Might be anxiety then. I'd recommend talking to a doctor about it and see if they can refer you on to someone more specialised in dealing with this.

I'm happy with my fapguin free existence.

It's also appropriate given I'm likely going to be on drugs that have a decent chance of making me about as sexually active as a potato for the near future.

Uh, do potatoes spend half their time fruitlessly masturbating until their privates are half-peeled? No, I didn't think so. ^_^;

I'll always associate you with snowplough polar bear. It really do be like that sometimes.

I spent five days this week fencing. I was satisfied with my performance on one of them.

Earlier this morning my mother decided to take my grandmother to the hospital because she wasn't feeling too well. Now she's going to intensive care, don't know exactly what is going on yet but gods damn it.
