I say  go for it. What if she ends up being your wife?

Otherwise you'll just never know.

fun like leaving, I allready packed my shit im millimeters from throwing my job away I dont even care about unemployment money, the only thing that bothers me is that my next job will be even shittier and that I won't be able to let myself have this as a win once I calmed down

I wish he had started a fight, I wish he had knocked me out, but he didn't because he saw the sheer psychotic rage in my eyes and understood that I wanted one of us die and didn't care if it was me

I know so, so, many people in this situation. Myself included. In no small measure what has kept me from quitting has been the bolded phrase.

And strictly speaking I do realize my workplace woes are by and far lesser than most people's. But its still stressful.

Salman Rushdie, age 75, was stabbed multiple times in New York by a muslim extremist. He is on life support in hospital, out of life danger. He has been stabbed in his liver, his arm and his neck. The nerves in his arm are severely damaged according to his literary agent.

In 1989, the Iranian government / ayatollah put a price of 3 million dollars on his head for writing the book 'the Satanic Verses (referring to the Qu'ran)' , condemning him for blasphemy.  *1)
Translators of the book were also target of assasination attempts. A Japanese translator was killed in his home in 1991
The British secret service gave Rushdie a new identity and security for many years, but since a decade or two, he has been using his own name again and tried to build a new life in New York, developing himself as a strong supporter of freedom of speech.

The 24 year old assailant has been arrested by te police.

Fuck you, extremist radical muslims. Even if I want to say Allah is a sad pimp demon, and the prophet Mohammed is just his sometimes anal whore when Allah can't find a goat to fuck, that's within my secular freedom of speech and you don't get to say a death fatwah for that, fuck you. Blasphemy is allowed in most of the the modern world. Piss off with your barbaric medieval bullshite.

*1) In 2016, the Iranian government increased the price on his head to 3.8 million dollars

At this point, it probably caused a whole ton of people who never knew about it before to order the book. Streisand Effect.

You say at this point, at the time it did. Rushdie made $2m in the first year the book was available

This is a very real reason many authors in the past and present publish anonymously. Governments, the wealthy and powerful and extremists are very much willing to kill to silence anyone that opposes or offends them, in literature or art

Muslim extremist seem to be the most violent and prevalent extremist group.
They're easily the most reported on, but I'unno about actually in reality. Stateside, they're less violent and prevalent than other sorts of right-wing extremists and by a pretty significant margin, but the exact ratio is going to differ based on what country you're looking at. Worldwide, I'unno, and exactly how you look at it is going to depend on what you consider terrorism/extremist violence.

e: as in, it's been a few years (and a significant increase in right-wing violence) since I've seen the TEVUS (US domestic terror database, one of the best more or less available to the public) data, but the last time I did you had islam related incidents at about the same rate as left wing ones, and then other right-wing incidents occurring somewhat more than both of them combined. It is not a close thing in the US.

That's a bold superlative there are headhunter tribes throwing their spear at you for it right now.

(I cant help to giggle at the idea that there would be some kid in every tribal village, with a smartphone, reporting back to their community what the bay is saying, and everybody cares)

Muslim extremist seem to be the most violent and prevalent extremist group.

They're massively prevalent currently (on a global scale) because the nations in a position where sponsored terrorism is an attractive policy (due to significant feuds with other nations and a lack of ability to do anything about said feuds directly) are Muslim. This has not always been the case - it wasn't that long ago that most organized terror groups were nominally socialist, for example.
