This fortress is wholly incredible.
I've only been playing dwarf fortress for a few days, that only allows me to get a vague realization of the immense amount of work that must have gone into this fortress.
It is so mindblowing I can't really comprehend it.
In one sentence 'this is insane'
It is the single most intense amount of work I have seen -in my life-.
In hindsight you should have gotten a supercomputer for this  :P
I have to look at the image several times just to appreciate all the things in it.
The engineering of all the defenses and the quarters and then there's the awesome tales that have spun out of this fortress.
It is testament to the versatility of Dwarf Fortress. It clearly shows that you can do anything if you put enough effort into it.
You are one dedicated person, and you must have a attention span several orders of magnitude larger then any hamster or goldfish.
I look at this and I am inspired to play dwarf fortress, intensely inspired not just for dwarf fortress, but for all long term endeavors in general.
I know that I will never make anything like this, I can't fathom myself putting so much effort into a single project, perhaps someday in my life. But for now I can only hope to start projects on a somewhat smaller scale, and not get bored to death.
To you I tip my hat.
My sincere compliments.
I look foreword to your next update.

Jesus.     Tapdancing.     Christ.

This fort is absolutely incredible...  I've never heard of one go this long before, or do construction on so massive a scale.  YOU, sir, are a Dwarf Fortress LEGEND!!

This is one of those few fortresses that went down in Dwarven history as greatest examples of Majesty and Ingenuity of the Dwarvenkind.

You, sir, have equaled Michelangelo in his best day. Or maybe even better, in Dwarven terms.

Excellent.

I must now make a fortress to rival this. A MIGHTLY TEMPLE TO ARMOK AND A SACRIFICING PILLAR FROM THE HIGHEST ZLEVEL TO A BOTTOMLESS PIT.

With "THIS IS SPARTA" spelled out in microcline as the goblin falls, of course.

Shamelessly stolen. Plotting out a 2D version in floors for proof-of-conceptappeal now.

Fine then. I'll just have to use something else.... like "HAVE FUN DYING" or "YOU LOST THE GAME."

....Aw, crap.

Wrong tense-- Flarechannel's been well-known as the best of the best of the best for quite some time now.
