No, I think the cook would be in charge of sugar-coating the cows.

You are a lifesaver! Round and probably in tropical flavors.

Is there an elder contest? I hope to take no less than third place!

I joined these forums over five years ago, which is before the first release of DF. Besides Tarn and Zach Adams, Aquillion and Eagleon are the only still active users who have been around longer.

The overwhelming majority of my posts have been in the Curses subforum, where I sporadically work on Liberal Crime Squad, one of the pre-DF Bay 12 Games that is now open source. I do play Dwarf Fortress, I'm just not as active in posting about it.

What spurred you to join before DF?

Well, back then, Liberal Crime Squad and Armok I were the headline games. I joined for LCS.

Still, Dwarf Fortress is clearly the superior game and I think the fact that LCS has been left to the open source community while development focuses on DF is quite in order. My biggest hopes for Dwarf Fortress are for the barriers of entry to be lowered: improved graphics support, cleaner interface, and optimized pathfinding for faster run speed.

While LCS might not be to everyone's taste, I would certainly suggest checking out WWI Medic to anyone interested in the pre-DF era.

Ah, I recently got into both LCS and WW1 medic in a big way.

To my knowledge Toady went through a serious Angst ridden rage phase and made a lot of gory sex filled games.

Medic was one of the ones that at least was good :D (though at most I hear of three others)
