Trying to build a city above ground, suggestion

Nicktendo:
Alright, so I decided to build a dwarven city above ground, mostly because it feels a lot easier to organize my city when I do it this way (probably because my rooms are constrained by the moat) but I noticed one thing every time I try this. Walls are so hard to build. Ok, not hard, but it's definitely time consuming. Why aren't walls able to be build like roads where you just push k once to add a horizontal length to it? Same with floors, if I was able to do them this way than it would make my live (as a dwarf) so much simpler...So my suggestion is simply this, to allow area based walls and floors; similar to roads and bridges.So... is there a good reason why this couldn't be implemented?

zagibu:
This is one of the top ten suggestions. So I guess it will be implemented sooner or later.

Helmaroc:
Seconded.

Nicktendo:
