Is there a way for us to help make more regular episodes of DF Talk happen? Maybe as a Patreon goal or sponsoring?
There will be one on June 11, if that helps.

PM me questions and I will see about sneaking some of them in.

Also, as crude as it may appear to be openly motivated by money, if there were cash coming in via Patreon or similar I would be more than glad to push to make DF Talk a priority.

I totally get that. Just show me the patreon and the goal and I'd be happy to contribute.

I think you would see the more contribution from the community if it was a goal of the Bay 12 Games Patreon. Is that possible to work out or do you think it would have to be separate?

I'll talk to Toady about it when I see him at the event.

Everyone should be PMing me more questions for the event though

Ah man, DFtalk is coming back again for another hurrah?

I emailed in my question like...two years ago? Seems like so long ago.

On the Patreon side of things, I'd be all for it. DFtalk was a great way to streamline communication between the Toad and the community. And while the Devlogs and FOTF do the same, the questions from co-hosts almost always spurred informative discussions.

I hope Toady is open to the idea  :D

Oh ok, cool. Even better really.

Sadly it's during a time where I'll be out of the house all day. Do you know if the live interview and Q&A will be recorded and saved somewhere?

The further future. There's been loads of talk on what's upcoming soon, but what kind of ideas are Toady and Threetoe already kicking around regarding scenarios, the economy (if not implementation ideas, then what kind of fun will be possible once the economy is in place?) and especially non-fortress play (either adventurer or even the far off 'other site' play).

I was most upset to hear Toady say that fans 'don't care about adventurer' at Dwarfmoot. That's really, really not true. There's so much potential in adventurer and it wouldn't be a waste of anyone's time to expand on what the vision for out of fortress playstyles might be.

Just thinking of some vague topics;

The 64 bit rewrite. How long do you generally expect it to take? Maybe some more thoughts on multi-threading if something wasn't mentioned at the dwarfmoot.

The coming artifact release. It's going to have artifacts in worldgen, and thieves - anything else? Will these artifacts do or have any effect on history besides from being made and stored somewhere?

The myth generator! Toady mentioned that there were a few things he didn't have time to talk about during the GDC talk, so why not talk about them here? What will the first release of the generator contain? Will it generally have more or less information and details than what the demo showed?

The magic system. What can we expect to play with for this first time through?

Laws and property. Will governmental system have any changes with the introduction to basic laws? Will fort mode justice see some love during this time?

Multithreading was mentioned at Dwarf Moot. Plus a little on the artifacts release. Especially interesting was a possible mechanic of sending out teams from the fortress to recover stolen artifacts from kobolds or other thieves (kind of a precursor to the day when you can send vast armies to wipe out the dark pits once and for all). Boats too and how to displace mermaids correctly ("not that you people have any respect for mermaids". Ha ha).
