40d17 OS X is not up, and won't be. With the number of changes I've forwarded to Toady, by the time he compiles it it'll be 40d18.

Does this mean that any errors found in 40d16 are of no use?

40d16? Rather not. They're probably already fixed.

Code: [Select]
andir@Janus:~/Downloads/df_linux$ ./df
mkdir: cannot create directory `unused_libs': File exists
mv: cannot stat `libs/libSDL*': No such file or directory
./dwarfort.exe: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
andir@Janus:~/Downloads/df_linux$ ldd ./dwarfort.exe | grep not
libboost_regex.so.1.35.0 => not found
libgraphics.so => not found
andir@Janus:~/Downloads/df_linux$ ls /lib/libncursesw.so.*
/lib/libncursesw.so.5  /lib/libncursesw.so.5.7
andir@Janus:~/Downloads/df_linux$ uname -a
Linux Janus 2.6.31-19-generic #56-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 28 02:39:34 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
With head files just downloaded in Ubuntu 9.10
I don't suppose anyone knows what else I can check?  I have libboost_regex and libncurses installed, but it apparently can't find them.  I'm assuming it's because it's an x64 build, but normally I'd get ELF errors.

Are the raw files still compatible? I'd rather keep all the stuff I have set in my raws.   aka  can I copy the "raw/objects" folder over to d17 from d16 and keep all my changes? (I'd assume so cause otherwise it would break old saves... hmm)

Yes, it's compatible.  Don't copy over any of your init files though.

I'm having trouble running this on ubuntu karmic 64bit. When I run the script nothing happens. I've tried with and without the head tarball unpacked over it, and d16 works well.

d17 is pretty rough compared to d16.

Define "nothing happens". Isn't there any terminal output?

And yeah, 40d17 is pretty rough, but 40d17-head shouldn't be.

terminal gives me ./dwarfort.exe: error while loading shared libraries: libncursesw.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Running outside of terminal nothing happens at all.
