Gil's graphics mod
« on: November 19, 2009, 06:09:42 pm »

I'm working on a new graphics mod (16x16). It's based on parts I like in mayday, but almost everything is being redrawn to be more consistent, etc. The elfs are VERY alpha, meaning I'm not sure if I like them yet.

I'm basing hair color on the general profession groups I made up, so the resource gatherers have brown hair.

Please don't us these in another release until I release mine.

Those look great! I particularly like the miner.

Will you have graphics for every profession, or will they be per profession group like Mayday's dorfs?

I saw Sphr's sprites yesterday and now I like his style better :D
I'll probably change to something more similar to his later.

I'll finish this first though.

I have about half the dwarven jobs ready, but I might go back and color code them better.

Yes, one sprite per profession

I like Sphr's dorfs because there's one for every profession and they're easily recognizible, but I think Mayday's dorfs have more personality. So this set you're making is the best of both worlds for me. :)

I am just too used to Sphr, I honestly liked the style (looks nicer, other sets are usually too simple/pixelated) of it and also that dwarves have tools which indicate each profession.
If you succeed at it, it's going to be my 2nd favourite set.

Yeah, having found Sphr's, I like that style better too. I might release a tileset to match Sphr's work, since he seems to have finished most graphics already.

I'm wrapping up this set, but it needs reorganizing, because I was really confused about the profession tokens at first. I've found what a few mean now and I'll be redoing/editing those. I'll have to redo entity/site link tokens though.
