Windows 7 and Dwarf fortress programing text will not mix
« on: November 24, 2009, 12:02:04 am »

Has DT been configured for W7 yet?
Because any scripting eg trying to fix the cat bug is impossible.
Normal Notepads that contain the DF scripting are not properly recognised in W7 and produce babble.
The same babble as what you get when you try to change a file over to a diffrent type in the improper way.
Heres just a sample of that babble:
I  x=PN0
H O=7'6F:Ѫ,+JC}{vv<;CBu|ou?lסج6׎ #ި
K
:
\v詥Vғۈ
d}Oe'wif
Is there anyway this can be fixed or am I screwd?

I don't know much about this subject, but with Toady and Threetoe being the only ones working on DF, and Windows 7 being very recently released, a fix wouldn't have been made.

You're supposed to edit the files in raw/objects, not data/objects.

P.S. If you don't get this note, let me know and I'll write you another.
It's amazing how dwarves can make a stack of bones completely waterproof and magmaproof.
It's amazing how they can make an entire floodgate out of the bones of 2 cats.

This.  DF works just fine on W7.
