Breakfast with one egg
« on: December 01, 2009, 06:33:01 am »

Once in a while I like to have a breakfast involving 3 eggs, or at times there is cooking that requires a odd number of eggs, this can result in a morning where I find myself with only one egg, and I'm hungry.

Now I know I can just make some other breakfast, oatmeal, cereal(I don't like cereal), a can of soup...  But I would like to use that egg.

So does anyone know a good breakfast involving just one egg, and a process that makes the effort of cooking the egg worth it?

Bacon, egg and (optionally) mushroom toasted sandwich. Can be done with one egg if one sandwich is enough for you :)

Bacon and mushrooms can both be fried like the egg so it's not extra effort to cook it.

You could make maybe 2 or even 3 peices of French Toast with one Egg if you would like the recipe

Fry it and make a sandwich. Awesome. Add bacon if you have it.

Alternatively, fry it and put it on a single piece of toast. I prefer frying my eggs and putting it on my toast, but my sister prefers scrambled eggs on toast.

Nuke it in a small cup.  Mince/dice it up and add mayo and mustard to taste - egg salad sandwich.   Insert any augments you find tasty with egg.

I second French toast.

Woo!

Get out a plate, crack and egg... Add milk... Fork wisk it... Then wet both sides of a peice of bread (I prefer White) and fry it up!

You can add Cinamon or butter up the pan. It is great with Syrup!

Break the egg into bowl and mix it a little, and when the soup is boiling mix it in. Thickens up the soup quite nice.

Make 1/4th of your basic 1-2-3-4 cake. Into cupcakes! Although getting 1/4th of 3 cups of flour may be a pain, unless you happen to have a quarter cup. Or a knowledge of the fairly cryptic system of US cooking measurements.

Let a few of your economists try the following recipe and they will find it is all it is cracked up to be: Take a calf’s left hind leg and let it hang until it will just stay hung without falling, then take it down, after cutting the bone out chop the meat into pieces about the size of a walnut, put them on the roof in a rain-storm for twenty-four hours, after which (if a cat don’t get them) boil with a pound of licorice-root, let the lot gently simmer for a few minutes and then add a paper of Lorillard’s century tobacco with a little old rye whisky, and you will have the meanest mess under the sun except scrapple.
