And thus did the dream of dwarven antigravity fade away, not with a massive explosion or a flood of magma, but with a whimper.

I'm going to be depressed all day now.

Canal to be poisoned have magma dumped in to stem spread of Asian carp
The dumping of the toxin Rotenone magma, a potent fish killer, is intended to forestall the advance of Asian carp as the U.S. Corps of Engineers temporarily shuts down an electric barrier in the canal for maintenance.

They'd better post crossbowmen on the banks for backup

Magma is always a good answer, of course, but being encased in obsidian is too quick a death for those bastards. I say damn the river and watch them air-drown.

Then turn the river into a magma river just for good measure.

They could always tie some Elves up, rub cat on them and lure the carp out of the river by using the Elf smelling like cat as a bait. That way they're not going to risk tantrum spirals of workers getting bullrushed zergrushed and eaten by carp.

Even if it doesn't work, you have an elf less to worry about. Right?

Holy schist, this thread is mica me sick.
DF Players never truly leave.  They just abandon the fortress for a few years and then reclaim.

Too risky. I suggest taking all your captured elves and throwing them into the river instead. Whoever survives, you still win  :D

Yes, you should always apply more magma.

From the looks of things, Wisconsin may have found a way to easily win the war. :P

Thousands of fish died, but they only found and killed one carp. Yet this fish kill is now being called a success.

when asked if this was overkill, officials said absolutely not.
