Dwarf Fortress
Red Alert 2
Day of the Tentacle
Myst
C & C (reconned to Tiberian Dawn)

The A-list as far as I'm concerned.

HEY, you should try my Dwarfletter tileset...it's pretty.

1. Dwarf Fortress
2. UFO Enemy Unknown
3. Master of Orion
4. Thief II: TMA
5: Civilization IV

 It's difficult choosing just five.

What is hydrogen? It's a substance which, if you leave enough of it sitting around long enough, completely unsupervised, becomes life that eventually evolves into something complicated enough to ask the question 'What is hydrogen?'

So I went to vote, however their voting system is totally flawed, and therefore I refused to vote in general because the second-best game of all time can't be listed there for some effed up reason.

I mean, ok... I went to type in "Wasteland", since Wasteland was by and large the single best video game ever made, next to Fallout 1 (which I had at #1). And they wouldn't let me add it as a vote. It kept trying to replace it with "Tony Hawk's American Wasteland" for some effed up reason (which we all know was crap), so I can't even vote for the games I like.

This is crap. :P

For those that would be interested, my top 5 of all time would be:

1. Fallout.
2. Wasteland.
3. Europa Universalis 3
4. Civ4 BTS.
5. DWARVES! DX

But they won't let me vote for my #2. So they can diaf. DX

(There is a story behind this. . .)

This is an Alder Omelette. All craftsdwarfship is of highest quality. It is encircled with bands of cheese. It menaces with spikes of bacon, ham, and peppers. On the object is an image of dwarves in egg white. The dwarves are eating.

1: Dwarf Fortress
2: Half-life 2
3: System Shock 2
4: Morrowind
5: Cave Story

I have some incredibly fond memories of these games, every one of them is an incredible source of nostalgia... *looks wistfully off into the distance*

Dwarf Fortress ;D
Warcraft III The Frozen Throne
Civilization IV Beyond the Sword
Rome Total War
Neverwinter Nights 2

Why NWN 2? It's just more like Kotor, but still not as good as Kotor. I thought NWN1 was better.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of one of the NWN1 expansions? The original NWN1 was incredibly terrible as a RPG beyond getting my D&Dv3.5x fix, it was in the online gaming that the mod community provided that it really shined. In NWN2, the city, my stronghold, and the way the quests flowed together came alive far more than what was offered in NWN1, it felt far more personal for my character, even though it wasn't yet the goal based experience I really wanted, still had the problems of hack and slash rewards. So for me, I had way more fun playing NWN2 than the first and would consider it about the same amount of fun as I had with the Hordes of the Underdark expansion.

My Picks for Top 100

Dwarf Fortress
Half Life 2 (but really the whole series)
Dues Ex
System Shock 2
Xcom Ufo Defense

But it seems kinda mean to me, I wouldn't be able to stop at just listing 5 games, there are just so many others as well that have influenced what I think makes a wonderful gaming experience but all seem to have in common in some way allowing the player's character to really have impact and/or be incredibly immersive.

Wow I gotta say, I'm really pleased with the number of people who've shown up and voted for DF  :D

if anyone was interested here is what I voted for

1. Dwarf Fortress
2. Bioshock (Was disappointed not seeing this classic in anybody else's lists  :()
3. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
4. Empire Total War
5. Civilization IV

Also with regards to people not being able to find their favourite games, I believe that there is an option for you to find them somewhere...yeees...here it is...

If you really want to see, say, Wasteland in there then you can e-mail PCGamer to have it added at... pcgamer@futurenet.com

Also I nearly died from boiling rage as well at seeing DF stuck in the management section...  :'(

I only picked games that I've played for an extensive period of time, and I really haven't played that many PC games compared to some people here, so my list may be a little off.

1.) Wii Sports (JK I really pt DF)
2.) Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
3.) Team Fortress 2
4.) World of Goo
5.) Psychonauts

I hope there's no prerequisite that states that it has to be a FINISHED game, otherwise DF's out by default.

1: Dwarf Fortress
2: Team Fortress 2
3: Portal
4: Morrowind
5: Half-Life 2

I probably would've put Cortex Command on there, but it wasn't on the list, and there are still several problems I have with it. I also just thought of these off the top of my head, I'm sure there's something I've missed that I played years ago.

And DF still has... 0%. *sigh*. I don't think our vote counts on this.

That's the rating they gave the game in the magazine. They can't review DF, so it has 0%.
