Do you have that link? E: got it

Someone actually posted on the forums complaining that the auto turns at the beginning of the game are too fast.

I haven't played this game in 1 Billion years... perhaps this is a good time to get back into it!

Yes, trying auto turns now and the game runs at about 1 year every 4 seconds now

There are some very lengthy unedited tutorials on Youtube for the older version of the game. As far as I know there are no tutorials that have the 'downtime' edited out, or only focus on a specific mechanic or design window.

Woo, started the game back up and realized I forgot how to do literally anything lol. How's the wiki looking if there's no decent tutorials?

EDIT: what have been your guys' priorities when starting a new game?

Right now I'm trying to get used to the changes in the interface. In the designer view you need to click 'wide' at the bottom to get the proper design view.

Also don't click the 'design philosophy' button unless you want random tech to appear, apparently it's for NPRs but the button still appears for player races.

The F keys (previously used for shortcuts) don't do anything. This is annoying.

Heh. On my Windows 10, they didn't do anything anyway - rather, Windows always catches them and does its own thing and the programs never get them.

So I just realized that you can make warp gates now by just plopping a space station with jump drives down at a warp gate... in theory. Has anybody tried something like this yet? I don't remember how the jump mechanics work but I seem to remember that you're able to use a ship as a jump tender to send other fleets through the warp point without having to go through itself.

If you set up a colony what do you need to do in order for civilians to start migrating on their own?

Do you just need to bring in some infrastructure first? Or is there more?

I think you just need infrastructure on the body and have civilian transport companies that have ships built - they do that on their own, but you can subsidize them to get their ships built faster.

Thanks! Uh... how do I get my freighters to unload their cargo at a new, undeveloped colony?

They should do it on their own, but being lousy civilian ships with lousy civilian designs, they probably don't have loading/unloading equipment, so it will take a while.  If they haven't unloaded in 60 days, there might be another problem, but it could take over 30 days.
