Damn it, can't even play. I'm in the game following the tutorial and it seems, even with my display settings at 1280x800 on Windows Vista, task-bar hidden, I can't find the Next button or any buttons at the bottom of the ship creation screen.

Any way to lower the screen size of the game? I'm in love with this game but my computer can't go any higher...

There's a version that requires less screen height, 800< iirc, just search further up this thread for the specifics. ;) good luck sir.

Those ships are flying bombs...speaking of which, ever seen a secondary explosion from a destroyed fuelstorage component? (I mean, sure it's Sorium, but still: fuel for antimatter reactors!)

I wonder, is it possible to create a campaign where you are a renegade faction on Mars or something and the main Terran faction is your enemy?

Yes. That isn't even all that hard.

Sounds like the next version needs more armor, shields and anti-missile weapons. x_X
To be fair, those ships have 10 corundium hull armor and they've been in a shitstorm of strength 1 and other strength missiles for a while now.

Now how do you randomly lose a thermal sig that you're tailing with warships?

They stop moving or slow down? I'm not sure as I have barely done any Aurora combat (so sue me), but I believe slowing down or stopping reduces the thermal sig. In your case, it must've slowed down enough to drop off your detection range for the current distance.

Alternatively, it could've used a Jump Point?

Maybe, it didn't jump though.

Sorryfordoublebutthisgemdoesn'tbelongonthesecondpage,

Anyway, the ships just randomly opened fire again, after a long drawn out pursuit there was a casualty among the new and improved warships:

Jeez, you need some serious amount of shields, missile-bait ships or something. Obviously the current tactic is not working.

You REALLY need better point defense and armored power cores/engines, dude  :-\

Looking at your tech, I'd just use laser turrets that can fire every five seconds. Have a ship covered with them exclusively for missile defense, and that should cut down on your casualties.

...is there really only a single alien ship? They must be the alien version of Spartans, or something D:
