So I went Shoe Shopping a week ago for a pair of winter shoes. I always dislike shoe shopping with my father as he firmly believes in wearing in your shoes. I personally go by the motto "a comfortable shoe only gets more comfortable" but that motto is only met with rolling eyes and aggrivated faces.
So at a shoe outlet that was offering rather substantial discount I found one shoe that fit and it was a size 13 wide black zipper winter shoe.
It was tight but I could wear them. I either could bare the disdain of my father by refusing the shoes and spend hours upon hours shopping for a hopelessly non-existant pair of shoes, which would be out of character to say the least, or I could take these shoes and enjoy the rest of my week.
Then while I am wearing them now a problem arose, my right foot is bigger then my left foot. So the mild, but increasing, discomfort in my left foot became a painful abbrasive pain in my right foot. A pain I know well enough from my days skating.
While my feet are not particularly long, my feet are size 12.5, they are double wide. When I went for dress shoes where none came in a wide, I had to buy a still uncomfortable size 15 shoe. To say the least a shoe my size is an oddity to find and that I harbor a secret loathing of dress shoes because of it.
Instead of simply not wearing my current shoes, which is rather common as I already have four pairs of shoes I do not wear as they are much too tight, I am thinking of finding some way of wearing them in, however it is unlikely that my right shoe will ever fit well enough using only my feet. Worse is that they are actually getting more uncomfortable the longer I wear them.
So I ask to the people reading this plee. What do you do when you need your shoes to fit more snuggly?
