Hi everyone, long time lurker here and player of Dwarf fortress.

Was bored today and decided to try out adventure mode, wow.  If I wasn't such a forum noobie (I have no idea how to upload a picture to show you guys) I would be linking to you a combat log that made me cringe with every push of the button I made...

Who can help me to post a picture? >.<

At the flick of a switch, the animals will become mindless killing machines and every single dwarf in your fortress will be hunted down and eaten. With a side dish of +plump helmet roast+.

Press alt+printscreen (above insert) to take a still frame of the game. Then go to "paint" (or whatever paint product you have), paste the picture, save, then go to a photo website (like photobucket) and upload the picture. Then find the [IMG] link, copy and paste in your reply! :)

He's invited people to come along and experience the journey with him (and help him test it out as he goes along). At the end of the day, I don't think his main goal is to sell Dwarf Fortress, its just to create the best game possible.

I think not.  Had a swordelf come up stab my knee and break my elbow...then his friend with a bow shot me from 10 squares away not managing to hit his friend while we wrassled.

I have a feeling this is going to be a trend in Adv. Mode  ;D

Yes, the elves are a race of Lee Harvey Oswalds, all communist assassins that can hit you in the brain, neck, both eyes, heart, both lungs and liver AND Gov. Connolly in one shot!

I just realized that for all the time I've spent wandering in Adventure Mode, I still haven't stuck someone in the eye with a wooden stick.

I'm trying to picture a sword going through the nose, left ear, left eye, and the brain, all at once.

It's not working  :(

That's the great thing about this forum. We can derail any discussion into any other topic.
It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

Think of it cleaving in through the side, clipping the ear and lodging in the eye.

Not as bad as an arrow that hits the left ear, right eye, brain, and mouth.

Because that makes perfect sense.
Anyways, uh, yeah, this is pretty standard Adventure mode stuff here.

Goes through the right eye, the end diconnects and slashes the mouth while the rest of it continues through, destroying the brain and taking out the left ear.

Also for the rapier, stabbed in the nose, it broke the nose but couldn't pierce it (becuase it's wood and not metal), slid down went through the left eye socket, took out the brain then damaged the the ear from inside.

Thanks for the info, I will make sure to use PNG in the future...was wondering why it looked so fuzzy when I converted it, thought it was just a forum thing.
