Although your advice on what to use is correct your information is wrong. PNG is not optimised for computer generated graphics, it's just a non-lossy compression which means image data is not lost from the picture. JPEG on the other hand is a lossy compression which is why it 'blurs' text and still looks okay on photos.

Generally any non-text picture, computer generated or otherwise, will look fine with JPEG and you'll get a smaller file size. PNG being preferred for small images (where the file size is not important) or anything where you can't afford the loss of image data.

Yea, it's funny... I'm unable to be evil in most games. It just won't work. It's not that I don't want to, I'm just unable? But Dwarf Fortress? After the first time you've had more than zero cats in your fortress, the gates are open and the inner psycho is out.

I got a hold of a lot of barrels of rum, and practiced throwing by setting off the barrels by throwing burning, live cats on them.

I can't wait for a time when I can do that without having to set myself on fire as well...

Well, I recently started an adventurer. He's been batting wolves around like crazy with a no-quality steel hammer.
I can't wait to see what happens when I try out the exceptional one I looted from a fort.
