Goblins impossibly weak?
« on: January 28, 2010, 02:48:07 pm »

I've been trying to get a goblin lasher going, though I've run into difficulties with how ridiculously weak they are. Namely, every single creature I attempt to kill with my Iron Scourge, including an unarmed human siege engineer wearing only pig tail clothing, simply defeats me without issue. Perhaps I've simply been getting unlucky, but shouldn't a scourge have a much higher probability to remove organs on hit with upper or lower body? Depending on skill level, a scourge ought to also be able to remove an arm with some luck. In any case, are goblins simply too weak to go the lasher route?

Whips are made to cause pain more than damage, I believe.

Yes, the problem is the pain never manages to slow even the weakest creatures for some reason.

A hammerer should be changed to a lasher.

whips are a funny weapon as in the right skilled hands you can just make a path of torn eyes, throats and limbs.

try not to stand there swaping blows with real weapons as your are out numbered bady.

feel free to lash and run be for thay give in to pain
as whips kill by blood loss.
pain takes time to over power creatures as shock and adrenaline can keep men with limbs missing in the fight.

if you are the faster fighter then lash and take a step back wait for the dumb elvs to happery use there move to close the gap.

picks are worse thay get stuck evey other blow.

That is derogatory, my good sir!

I would correct both of your statements, if you liked; however, that first statement makes no sense, and so I cannot fix it without knowing its original intended meaning.

Now, to return to the subject at hand.

I am curious as to whether or not you had trained in wrestling or whatnot. I have found nwhips to be some of the most dangerous weapons in the game (which makes me afraid to have any weapon do greater damage of the same type).

Lashers with proper skill can be QUITE deadly, I've seen a lasher whip every limb off a person in a few seconds, making Indiana Jones look like ... well, some idiot named after the family dog, not to put too fine a point on it!

with skill yes thay can deadly but there starting wounds are a lot lower because whips do gore so you get mangled and cut,you dont get kockback or severing as much as with blunt or Slash.
no stucks in as well :)

lashers need to fight foes that bleed and feel pain.

Remember my first lasher. I fought a cyclops and lashed his eye out. He peassed out due to pain, so I kept lashing him... until I passed out myself  :P

In the end, I just strangled him with a whip.
