Well, I've got to be doing a project on Dante's Inferno for my AP English class.

How fun would recreating all nine circles of hell be in DF?

Ideas?

Only one way to find out.  Bonus points for building it with HFS entrance in the very center, for more Fun.

Put a caged dragon with two chained/caged goblins next to it in the middle on top of the final layer of HFS

The real problem I see, is not wanting to start on the thing until the new version comes out.

Heck of an excuse to procrastinate, no?

I think the 9th level of hell breaks euclidean Geometries, I am not sure if that can be consistently done in DF

I was planning to have a single staircase leading up from the center. It's not perfect, but it works.

There are some excellent maps/diagrams of Dante's Inferno easily found by a simple Google image search. Its very simple shape of a vast terraced conical pit of concentric rings might not be all that rewarding of a finished product though.

Couldn't be worse than the "official" game of Dante's Inferno.

Hmm... you'd have to expose the central lowest layer directly to a freezing biome to get it cold.

Sand in the seventh layer with caged !clowns! mounted from the ceiling above (can they be caged through knocking them out on a cage trap like other demons?) for the rain of fire effect.  The outer ring of the seventh circle will simply have to have a river of magma instead of boiling blood.

Other than cheating, the only way to cage a !!clown!! is to web it over a trap.  They are immune to knockout and stun effects so you can't use those to cage them.  Also your cage and mechanisms will need to be suitably !!clown!! proof.  Glass cages work fine, but you need a !!clown!! proof mechanism.

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

You can also collapse the ceiling on them to stun them, then they'll be able to be trapped.

:edit:

Here's how it's done.

Finkus: !!clowns!!, unlike the other kinds, have [NOSTUN] and [NO_SLEEP] or similar tags, which means collapsing the roof does jack squat to them, except for crushing damage.
