Modding in Shields

Hi everyone, I tried to mod in a shield recently but I can get it to work, I added to the civ entitys and stuff but its still not showing up. Any idea what I'm doing wrong. it could be I'm just overlooking something.

I know I want my own though, its also just an experiment in modding the game.

First up the one mistake everyone tends to make. Have you generated a new world with this?

yep, several infact, I read the wiki and followed the instructions that are/were there. I am using it in a modded in civ that I'm playing around in in adv mode and thats working fine I've also modded in a sword but the shield still eludes me.

I've tried modding in armor and clothing with no success. Maybe a seperate file might help though, because I've never tried that.

You're missing [SHIELD:ITEM_SHIELD_BSHIELD] I think. You have ..._ASHIELD though.
