Why the move?

• I don't control the dwarffortresswiki.net domain name, and my company is switching server colocation providers.  Thus, we have a new IP address.

It's so slow!

• The database is not currently moved yet, only the website.  I'll be moving the database shortly (next day or two) and performance will be back up to par.
  
• Database was moved successfully.
  

Will you have to lock the wiki from editing while you do this?

• No.  A while back, I moved the dwarffortresswiki database to a replicated online failover system.  We'll be using this system to move the database over to the new server.
  

I see 503 / Page doesn't load!

• I'm working on solving this.  Currently, I've set a forced restart every 3 minutes for the backend server that's failing and causing this as a stopgap until I figure out exactly why apache2 hates me.

My bookmark followed suit, so there shouldn't be too much of a problem. Although I'm using FF and so, can't speak for other browsers.

Direct links still work, but I think that is because the redirect is very quick.  I should still update my bookmarks, just need to remember to do it after I run some errands. 

That reminds me, I have been meaning to add/overhaul some of the fortress defense and room design articles.  Much of them shouldn't be obsolete with the next update, but will need some tweaking.  I suspect maned(dwarfed?) point defense will actually be useful as opposed to merely a micromanagement nightmare.

502 Bad Gateway is an HTML response code refers to a server error (as all 5xx response codes).  It means that the server is acting as a proxy or gateway and received a bad response from whatever its connecting to.

My system is being weird, it's alternating between 502 and 504 response codes.  A 504 Gateway Timeout just means that it still thinks the server is a gateway/proxy and the server it's trying to connect to took too long to respond.  It's similar to the 502 except that instead of a bad response, it just got not response.

Presumably, all of this means that there's a problem with the server the new site is on.  Hope that answers the question of what the error means.

So what aboput the alternate language Wikis? they still up if so it can just be ran through a translator of sometime type it'll be engrish but depending on the language it should still work.

Sorry about the downtime, I had a setting misconfigured on iptables (doh) which throttled traffic.  Fixing it right now.
