I once lopped off a dragon's tail a wing(modded) and two of it's legs, and then gouged out it's eyes in adventure mode and was twisting my sword it's remaining rear leg.  It had been unconscious for some time, then it woke up just long enough to bite off my lower arm before bleeding to death.

A) Why wasn't it dead?  And B) Did that dragon take yoga classes or something?
