Money's not an issue, and fending off those sieges I've been dealing with in the past two videos would be more challenging without traps. Besides, Kurt wanted a change of scenery. It was too depressing being in that old place with all of those memories.

Also, you don't have to have anyone at a safehouse with the Liberal Guardian in order to print special editions each month (if I recall correctly; it's been a while since I've used the Liberal Guardian). If you care about writing material for it, though, you can just keep your authors there.

Granted, if you were in the sodding homeless shelter and still gaining no heat despite all of your criminal activities, I figure that's a serious problem. The Conservatives can't be that stupid, can they?

Does closing down the police station reduce heat or something??? It seemed to in my recent game.

No it doesn't. Your safehouses' heat won't change for better or for worse while the police station is offline. You won't be raided either. However, once the station is opened again, you'll face even more heat for the crime streak that closed it down the last time.

Not to mention the cops will anally rape you when they return!

By this, I mean that shutting down the Police Station makes all the population say, "OH NO!  A group of terrorists just shut down the Police Station!  We'd best remove those pesky restraints that provent Our Heroes In Blue from fighting them!  Give them automatic weapons too!"

In game terms, the public decides that the law enforcement issue should go more conservative, and the next election, referendum, Congressional action, or Judicial decision is likely to reflect this.  Police Gang Units and DeathSquads can be the results.

I've never experienced a massive public opinion downturn after shutting down the Police Station, but perhaps that's because, by the time I'm able to create mass carnage in there, I've become so powerful that my control over the populace can't be challenged.

...Did I say control? I meant, of course, after I convinced the populace of the evils of conservatism, naturally.

I *HAVE* noticed that closing down a location sometimes does not net me as much positive PR as I would have thought... (you know, from all the killing and stuff). Maybe the two things cancel each other out?

I think it's linked to public opinion (your popularity has a big role I suppose) quite a lot. I haven't experienced the negative opinion effectes of shutting down the police station, but in early game shutting down sites won't help a lot. Except for Cable and AM, it's always good to blast them shut because they corrupt people's minds.
