Gem encrusted magma
« on: December 27, 2022, 05:22:29 pm »

Hmmm. This is interesting. I did not embark on a volcano, yet in the topmost caverns, I have an obsidian capped small plot of warm clear diamonds and star sapphires.

EDIT: Hah! Channeled the top, it is a single tile of magma, surrounded by expensive gem types.

Oh. I have some of those in the third cavern layer. They are a lot bigger and filled with both water and magma with lots of gems inside, going deep down into the magma sea. I was hoping for some enemies inside but none so far.

They're pretty rare, but definitely interesting. One of mine had a "Wraith of Flames" in it in the second cavern layer. Not sure what it was though, since being made of flames made it so physically weak that the miner that encountered it managed to decapitate it with a single swing. After it set itself on fire, of course...

Well, I put the magma tile to good use. Magma forge with no endless pumpstacks of wrist pain.

These sound like rather interesting geodes.
