I noticed that creatures will lay prone under the wagons when they occupy the same tile. This causes very amusing imagery when dwarves are being run over unharmed. Incidentally, kobolds happened to be running about, and they were flattened quite well. Is this a testament to dwarven toughness?

More likely, the dwarves are crawling about under the wagon. The kobolds were probably murdered by the human guards when they tried to hide under the wagon.
